Licensing Process

At Arranged By Brian, every purchase, whether it's a custom chart or a pre-arranged catalog chart, requires a Permission to Arrange License. This license allows for adapting and modifying copyrighted pieces and is specific to each ensemble. It grants permission to use the arrangement for a set period of time.

"Permission to Arrange" License

At Arranged By Brian, Permission to Arrange Licensing for songs usually falls between $150 and $400 per song, although fees may occasionally exceed this range. When songs are combined into a medley, each song within the medley requires licensing together, leading to a substantial increase in the total cost. These fees are determined solely by the copyright owner(s), and all payments are made directly to them. It's important to note that Arranged By Brian does not have control over these fees, and they are not included in the quoted or invoiced arranging service rates.

Obtaining Licensing Approval

If you use Tresóna Multimedia's Licensing Exchange, they can handle all the licensing work for you. They'll submit the license requests, link them to your account, and notify you once approved. You pay them directly for the license, and once completed, we can upload the arrangement for you to download. This process can take a few days to a few months, so plan ahead and have a backup plan if needed. For Custom Arrangement Licenses, you'll need to contact the publisher or copyright owner directly. We can't do this for you, but we require proof of completion and payment before delivering your arrangement.

Please be aware that all pre-arranged catalog arrangements are not published arrangements and still require obtaining the proper 'Permission to Arrange' from the copyright owner. You can select arrangements you're interested in using our checkout feature, but delivery of the product will remain on hold until licensing and payment are approved.

Arrangements can be made available as soon as payment is processed by Tresóna. Please verify directly with Tresóna when selecting an arrangement.
