Brian McCallister is a freelance musician, arranger, and vocalist based in Los Angeles, California. With a career that bridges performance, education, and production, Brian has established himself as a trusted creative voice in the contemporary choral and show choir community. His extensive experience as a show band director, studio singer, performer, and music educator has made him a sought-after collaborator by ensembles and producers across the United States.

As a vocalist, Brian’s voice can be heard on numerous professional choral demos for Hal Leonard, Alfred, Shawnee Press, and other major publishers, as well as on his own solo projects, which are available on all major streaming platforms. His work as a session and backup singer has brought him to the stage with renowned artists including Kenny Loggins, Ben Folds, The Chieftains, Bobby McFerrin, and Janis Siegel—experiences that continue to shape his musical identity and stylistic range.

Brian’s arranging portfolio reflects an equally diverse scope. His gospel writing has been featured at the Illinois Music Educators Association Conference, his show choir arrangements have been performed by more than sixty ensembles nationwide, and his jazz writing has been recognized at the Iowa Music Educators Association Conference. In addition to his concert and educational work, Brian writes and records custom material for major entertainment venues such as Silver Dollar City and Six Flags Great America, blending his background in vocal jazz and pop production with a cinematic sense of storytelling.

A passionate educator, Brian serves as a staff writer and clinician each summer at Showchoir Camps of America, where he works with directors and students from across the country to develop performance technique, musicality, and creative confidence. His clinic work combines deep musical insight with an encouraging, collaborative approach that inspires ensembles to perform with authenticity and connection.

Brian holds a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Studies from the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, where he graduated in 2018. Drawing on his roots in jazz, gospel, and commercial music, he continues to champion artistry, community, and excellence in every aspect of his work—whether in the classroom, studio, or on stage.
